NEW YORK, Feb. 3, 2026, 3 p.m. — The latest release of U.S. Department of Justice documents has reignited controversy surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case, after high-profile rappers Jay-Z and Pusha T were mentioned in FBI tip line reports dating back to 2019. The records, which include public calls and unverified claims, have fueled online speculation — but legal experts warn that being named in an FBI tip line does not mean guilt or criminal wrongdoing.
According to the newly released records, the FBI intake forms contain allegations about incidents that allegedly happened decades ago. One unsubstantiated claim suggests Jay-Z was present at a Florida estate in 1996 during an alleged assault involving Harvey Weinstein. The document explicitly notes that the information was unverified and the victim’s name was redacted. No charges were filed, and there is no evidence linking Jay-Z to any criminal activity.
Pusha T’s name also appears in a separate tip referencing a 2007 party. Once again, the documents provide no corroboration, evidence, or follow-up action related to the claim.
The Epstein files include the names of several other stars, such as Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, Diana Ross, Chris Tucker, and Courtney Love. Public records show Jackson visited Epstein’s Palm Beach home, but there are no allegations of wrongdoing. Mick Jagger and Diana Ross appear in social photos with Epstein, and Tucker reportedly traveled on Epstein’s plane in 2002 for a humanitarian trip. None of these mentions led to charges or legal action.
Adding fuel to the fire, rapper 50 Cent reacted on Instagram to reports of Jay-Z’s name surfacing in the documents. The rapper hinted at a possible documentary exploring a connection, similar to his previous work on Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a Netflix documentary about Diddy that premiered late last year.
Despite the online chatter, legal analysts emphasize that the Epstein files are complex and often misunderstood. FBI tip line entries are raw, unverified reports from the public, not proof of guilt. Without corroboration or official charges, a name alone, even if it’s a star’s, does not imply wrongdoing.
