New York, NY. Nov. 28, 2025, 11 a.m. - A Black disabled veteran has filed a $5 million lawsuit against Buffalo Wild Wings after discovering a racial slur printed on his order receipt, reigniting painful memories of past racial trauma.
Marc Loman, 37, and his wife Natasha, 48, say the incident occurred during a late-night visit to a Buffalo Wild Wings in Woodbridge, Virginia, on November 2, 2024. They claim that instead of their names, the restaurant printed the offensive term "nigs" on both their takeout bag and receipt.
Loman, who grew up in the Deep South and served in the military, described the experience as "reopening wounds I thought had healed." The lawsuit alleges that the staff member responsible knew or should have known the offensive nature of the word.
The incident led Loman to miss work and seek counseling, court documents state. Natasha, who posted a TikTok video showing the receipt and bag, called the act "disgusting" and "unacceptable."
Buffalo Wild Wings responded by firing the employee involved, but the couple’s legal action continues. They are seeking more than 5 million dollars in damages, citing emotional distress and intentional infliction of harm.
This case is not the first time Buffalo Wild Wings has faced accusations of racial insensitivity. In 2019, employees in Illinois were dismissed after asking Black customers to move tables upon a white patron’s request. In 2018, a man’s receipt was scrawled with "Homeless Fuck!" by staff.
As public outrage grows, critics question whether the chain’s claims of promoting diversity and inclusion are genuine. The Lomans’ lawsuit casts a harsh spotlight on ongoing issues of racism within America’s restaurant industry.
