NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2025, 8 p.m. — Queen Bey has done it again. Beyoncé is now officially a billionaire, making her the fifth musician in history to reach that elite status according to Forbes. The Grammy-winning superstar joins an exclusive club that includes Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Bruce Springsteen.
The 44-year-old artist’s rise to billionaire status comes after the staggering success of her Cowboy Carter tour which grossed over 400 million dollars in ticket sales and an additional 50 million from merchandise. Her previous Renaissance tour brought in more than 579 million dollars cementing her place as one of the highest-grossing artists of all time.
While Beyoncé has launched several lucrative ventures including her hair care brand Cécred whiskey label SirDavis and fashion line Ivy Park most of her wealth still flows from her music. Her catalog global tours and recent album Cowboy Carter have made her a powerhouse in the entertainment industry.
Her journey to the top was not easy. Beyoncé started her career as a member of Destiny’s Child facing the typical struggles of a young artist trying to carve out her own space. Yet she persevered becoming the most awarded and most nominated artist in Grammy history. In 2010 she founded Parkwood Entertainment giving herself control over her music tours and documentaries.
Her 2024 album Cowboy Carter received critical acclaim and earned her her first album of the year Grammy. The tour that followed was the biggest of 2025 employing hundreds of crew members and moving across the globe with a fleet of planes and trucks. The show even featured surprise appearances by her family and former Destiny’s Child bandmates.
Forbes highlights that no enterprise is more lucrative than a superstar capable of selling out stadiums worldwide. Beyoncé’s concert tour alone employed 350 crew members and used eight 747 cargo planes to move equipment from city to city.
Beyond her music Beyoncé earned an estimated 50 million dollars for her halftime performance at the NFL’s Christmas game and 10 million in Levi’s commercials.
