Rev. Peterson Applauds Supreme Court's Affirmative Action Ruling
LOS ANGELES - Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of BOND (Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny) applauded yesterday's Supreme Court decision striking down racial "diversity" plans in two major school districts. In a ruling that could effect hundreds of districts across the country, the high court voted 5-4 to reject the diversity plans of districts in Seattle, Wa. and Louisville, Ky. Announcing the decision Chief Justice John Roberts said the districts, "failed to show that they considered methods other than explicit racial classifications to achieve their stated goals." The following is Rev. Peterson's statement about this decision:
"This is a great day in America. First American citizens got involved and defeated the Senate amnesty bill. Now the Supreme Court has dealt a serious blow against racial quotas in public schools. Though the court didn't go far enough to eradicate race as a factor in assigning students to schools, it's a step towards that end.

"This is not an attack on Brown v. Board of Education, it's a decision to end forced integration. Instead of attacking the court for its decision, so-called 'civil rights' groups like the NAACP should focus more on promoting two parent families and improving black communities across the country"
