Glover Likes Edwards' Message

March 13, 2007, 7:50 p.m. EDT - Acclaimed actor and activist Danny Glover is supportive of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards' platform.

"I spoke with him," the "Lethal Weapon" star is reported to have said. "I liked a lot of what he had to say."

Glover, who worked with Edwards on a campaign called Hotel Workers Rising, is reported to have said Edwards is one of "several people" he has "a lot of respect for." His comments came during a wide-ranging interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about his upcoming film.

This is not the first time Glover - who is playing a presidential assassin in his new movie "Shooter" - has given his opinion on national politics. In 2003, he called President Bush, a Republican, a "racist". In 2001, he said he opposes the death penalty in all cases - even for Osama bin Laden.
