India Arie: Kanye West was 'on point' about Bush

    WASHINGTON, Oct. 16, 2005, 10:30 a.m. - Songstress India Arie yesterday said rapper Kanye West was "on point of course" with saying President "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

    "I think they [the government] didn't respond properly and Katrina is just the tip of the iceberg of a number things that everyone's mad about," she told Redding News Review in an exclusive interview following her performance at yesterday's Millions More Movement.

    The Atlanta-based hit neoclassic singer-songwriter said that she could add a lot more. "But I don't the time," she said, as she was being whisked off in a waiting van.

    West made his statement on a live telethon benefit last month for Hurricane Katrina victims.

    He was recently jeered for his comments by a handful of Republican student protesters at the University of Florida.
