Atlanta's News & Talk 1380 WAOK-AM. He was let go by the station in
March 2009, due to budget cuts. His once daily show now airs on the
weekends every Saturday from 10 to noon.Philadelphia radio host dies - Fatimah Ali, the unmistakable
voice that welcomed listeners on the WURD900am airwaves with her
show “The Real Deal with Fatimah Ali,” has died. The station
announced in a statement that the veteran journalist, whose career
spanned print and broadcast, died Tuesday morning. She was 55.

national news during the segments. He once did
evenings at the station before announcing that he would run for

Atlanta's WAOK-AM is set to announce a signal upgrade to 25,000
watts - The station has already gone from 5,000 to 10,000 watts
and should be up to 25,000 watts by the end of the month.
Atlanta's WAOK-AM has announce that Mo Ivory will replace Warren
Ballentine - Ivory, who is already the "political-community
outreach specialist" at CBS Radio, had taken over the 10 a.m. to 1
p.m. weekday slot .

- The talk show host
writes on Facebook: "The show is still on everyday across the
nation. We lost 1380am in Atlanta but already have 3 other stations
looking to add us in the ATL. We are still on everywhere else. Shame
aok let us go, cause of egos. (I missed FSO and they felt
disrespected even though I couldn't make it 'till that Sunday) black
folks what can we do?"

Award-winning talking radio host Ray Taliaferro's "The Early
Show" has been removed from
KGO News Talk 810 in the
San Francisco Bay Area
- Taliaferro, who has been on the station since 1977, has
been recognized as one the first black talk show
hosts on a major market radio station in the country. He made
Black Talkers 2009 list of the Talented 10 top talk show hosts. KGO
is moving from talk to all news.

talk show host Derrick Boazman jailed in Occupy Atlanta protest - WAOK's
afternoon talk show host last night was booked into an Atlanta jail with
more than 50 others who were Occupying a city park. He has posted bond and
is out.
Bev Smith will
receive a
Legacy Award from Pittsburgh Chapter’s
NBMBAA - She, who was yanked from
syndication earlier this week, is
scheduled to receive the award on
Oct. 22nd. The award is
given to a pioneering African-American
entity or individual of the Pittsburgh
Region that has provided a lasting
impact to the African-American community
at large.
Syndicated Talk Show Host Warren Ballentine says buy coffee to help the

Ballentine announced today a new
initiative challenging 30,000 people to
buy coffee for $30 every month. The
